Baylee @anxietysupport

Anxiety Patient Leader
Instagram

“Hello friends! My name is Baylee. I would first like to say that I am beyond grateful for this nomination! How cool! I became a mental health advocate the day I accepted my own mental illness diagnosis. After many empty searches for a certain form of support where I could feel understood and less alone, I decided that if I couldn’t find what I was looking for that I would just create it myself. And just like that @anxietysupport was born. It’s been 6 wonderful years of sharing my own mental health journey and establishing human connections with people all around the world. I’ve made it my life’s mission to instill hope and light in what can often be a very dark and lonely struggle.” Connect with the 2018 WEGO Health Awards Best in Show: Instagram winner.

Becky @ChronicMotivation

Autoimmune Disease Patient Leader

Twitter | Instagram

Hi! I am a 33-year-old woman living in NYC. I was born with Blau Syndrome, an autoimmune disease that primarily causes arthritis in every joint in my body (but also has eye and skin involvement). Since I’ve been sick since birth, I feel exceptionally well-adjusted, and I am fortunate to be able to say that I’ve not allowed my illness to stop me from doing anything I want, like going away to college, getting a Master’s degree, playing the drums, and working full-time in hospital operations management (mostly oncology). I live independently in an apartment with my dog, and it is my goal to help as many people as possible, navigate through chronic illness. Check out: #sickpeopledoingthings and learn more about Becky.
